how do you figure out what the windage and elevation is…..?
i have just recently bought a remington 700, and a leopold 1/4 MOA 25x scope to go with it. i bought a borsighter and sighted it in at 10 yards. but obveously a bullet is going to drop over distance. so what is the equation, o way to know howto adjust windage and elevation?
If you bore sighted it at 10 yards you will shoot 6 inches high at 100 yards. Your scope is 1-1/2 inches higher than your barrel. The barrel has to point upward to match the scope view. Typically with a .270, 30.06 or a 7mm you would sight the gun at 50 yards. The shell is travelling relatively straight in that distance but is also pointing upward to match where your scope is viewing. At 100 yards the bullet will be higher than the scope view and begin to arc. The bullet will again cross the line of sight of your scope at about 200 yards and fall off from there as it slows down. BULLETS DO NOT RISE! They come straight out of the barrel and arc toward the ground.

Attract owl. The crows just absolutely hate them and give them the whole herd to try to sell them. As I sit here typing, there is a young mother and her two GHOSE in my backyard, and ravens have been at it since 6:00 a.m. this morning.
