How can you tell the difference between the Army and Marines in movies?

Assuming that they don’t say anything obvious or you see any obvious symbols of Army or Marines, what are some key differences between Army soldiers on the ground, and Marine soldiers?

In the Civil War movies, marines were on board ships and the guys that fought against boarding parties.

In WWI, almost everyone was in the army (including those that flew planes) unless it involved ships.

In WW2, the marines were in the Pacific and the army was in Europe.

In the Korean war, they mostly shared the same uniforms. The uniforms would say U.S. Army for the U.S. army and USMC for the U.S. Marine Corp. The Marines also had their emblem which is the eagle, globe and anchor.

In operation Desert Storm, there was a transition to the old and new tri-pattern (aka Chocolate Chip). U.S. Army uniforms said U.S. Army and the marine uniforms said USMC.

In the second Gulf War and in Afghanistan, the marines wear MARPAT which is a digital camouflage that comes in mostly green or mostly brown (forrest and desert colors). The U.S. army wears what becomes grey (it doesn’t look grey when new). Nobody wears Multicam except special operation forces and the army starting with Afghanistan in August. Multicam is what the military used in the Transformer movies.

The dress uniforms are green for the army and blue for the marines.
