I am going to reblue my Remington 1100 I bought Birchwood/casey complete kit has anyone used this before ?
Doze any one have any good tips for reblueing?
It turned out good for me. If you want a light blue then use the paste, but if you want a dark blue then use the liquid. You think that you are ruining the gun when you put on the blue and rust remover since the barrel turns shiny silver, just keep going. Make sure that all of the chemical is off before you apply the bluing solution. let the bluing solution sit for about a minute and work only in small spots. One note, make sure to wear gloves and avoid touching the barrel too much before applying the bluing chemical since fingerprints will show up on the bluing if you get any oils on the barrel before the chemical was applied. Let the gun sit for 2 days after you have applied the oil after the bluing, to “cure” the blue. It truly isn’t that hard. Good luck!
