Should I get a built in laser for my Glock 22? How about the night sights do they work in light?
I was just wondering.
Do you have a glock 22 w/ sites or laser?
Wouldn’t it be more accurate and you can fire faster with a laser?
I shoot just fine with the glock 22. I go to the range once a week to practice.
I don’t personally, but I’ve done a lot of studying on Glocks, night sights and lasers.
First off, the night sights: You can get night sights that are white in the day, and just have a green glow in little to no light areas. Some are just a light green hue all day long. I’m not aware of any night sights that don’t also work during the day. The ones that are white during the day are a great addition to a Glock, but unfortunately it most likely means a 3-dot sight instead of the Glock standard (Which I prefer).
And the laser: Unless you have tactical training (And of course if you plan to use this Glock for self defense), I’d highly recommend against the use of a one. Lasers are bad, A. Because wherever you’re pointing, there are two red (or green) dots in the room, so an intruder can guess pretty easily where you are, B. Because if a gun has already been fired in the room, there’s smoke, which makes the laser completely visible in the air, which lets everyone in the room know EXACTLY where you are.
Neither of these situations are ideal. Your best bet, is to get a tactical training class, and learn how to properly use lasers and flashlights in tactical situations. If you don’t want to do that, I’d recommend just getting yourself some decent night sights and having a good home defense plan.
And no, the laser won’t make you more accurate or shoot any faster, that’s all the shooter’s job. It might make sighting in to the target a bit quicker, but you don’t want to get to dependent on that to the point of not being able to shoot well without it.
