If you carry it openly, it must be 3 inches long or less (the blade I mean) unless it is for a specific, on-the-job work task, like a Teppanyaki chef. You cannot carry a fixed blade knife concealed. I understand that Fixed blades(dirks or daggers) are able to be carried openly on your belt aslong as they are not concealed. Now im a lil sketchy on the rule of length here, I keep hearing that there is a length restriction but I also here there isnt any length restrictions. I know that certain cities have specific ordinances that state length specifications as well as weather knives are allowed to be carried. I live in Victorville Ca where there are no such ordinances. I just want to make sure that there is no limit to the length of a fixed blade that is not concealed but openly worn on the waist.
As long as there is no local ordinance regarding length and it s not concealed, there is no statute limiting the length of fixed blade knives carried openly.
