What does intense knee and elbow pain mean?

I am 18 year old female and have had intense knee and elbow pain for quite a while now. I have always had intense inner knee pain even from when i was a child, but i have always been told it was growing pains. But i am done growing and it still hurts, even to the point to where i cry. Recently elbow pain has been getting worse, i would take ib profin or asprin to relieve the pain but it never worked. It comes randomly and when it does come its bad. It takes anywhere from a day to 3days for the pain to go away. If anybody has any ideas just let me know
You may have arthritis…even rheumatoid arthritis. If it usually occurs after exertion, it might be osteoarthritis.
See the doctor and have them take an xray of your joints to see. You definitely don’t want to be chewing down the ibuprofen all the time, it’s hard on your system in large quantities.
