how do you put in the blade to black and decker circular saw?
Just bought a new black and decker circular saw and am trying to put the blade on, but it doesn’t have a locking mechanism and I can’t get the bold to stop spinning when I try to loosen it. (There is no blade in there now)
Hey there Mizz_Cassie_Cass, I’m Blake from The Home Depot. Circular saws typically have a small button somewhere on the motor housing that you can push in to stop the mechanism from turning when you spin the retaining nut on and off (be sure the saw is unplugged).
When it comes to loosening the nut they are typically counter-threaded so it is actually clockwise to loosen counter-clockwise to tighten. This is so that the spinning of the saw in use does not loosen the nut. Be sure to use enough torque when securing the blade in place, and always follow the manufacturer’s instructions in your use and care manual when replacing blades.
