What is the importance of heat treatment? EXPERTS PLEASE!?
I have several blank sheets of ATS 43 Knife. Untreated with heat. I need to know how the heat treatment is to maintain a razor's edge, a scratch, etc. Basically, I need to know if I can do a good knife blanks without heat supply. If I can not, I wondered if some joint local businesses can withstand the heat for me. I know there is a workshop blacksmith, a few miles away, with several hardware stores. Or, is it possible to heat treat myself? Thanks for your time
Manufacturing probably made in the closest "soft" mood dead as possible. There is no doubt that the heat treatment to improve their product. If you can estimate the temperature, and "dip" is not necessary, you can do yourself in small plates. A normal gas stove used to make a small blade of a red.
