Military Survival

Military Survival
Why are some people so much into survival and bushcraft skills?

Is it to do with fearing an all out nuclear war or terrorist attack? Are some of them linked to extreme political groups? I have noticed many also like military-style exercises and wear fake uniforms and facemasks, etc.. Or is it just men showing what little boys they really are at heart? Not that some women don’t also enjoy these things but they’re markedly rarer :-)

Its called preparation. With the state of this nation, anything could happen. Natural disasters could wreck parts of the country at any minute. I for one, wont be like most of the people suffering during Katrina and waiting for the gov. to save em. Plus its fun and keeps you grounded with the outdoors instead of going from AC to AC and eating whatever they feed you..lol. Knowing how to get food, water, and shelter for your family from the outdoors could save your life. It’s like life insurance…better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!
The gun nuts you mention, are doing it also cause its fun! Most are not looking to shoot it out with LE or gov. but just like shooting guns. Kinda why people play painball. Much better than sittin in the house. There are some real nuts out there as well though. Just like within any group. but thankfully they are not common.
