Shotgun shell stuck inside, best way to get out?
Ok, i bought a pump shotgun brand new. Its a clone of a ithaca model 37, I was using some snap-caps for a little practice but the shell not only didnt extract, another one went into the magazine and is thoroughly stuck one the firing pin, it wont come out no matter how much i pull it. Kind of difficult to explain without pictures.
Try to disassemble the shotgun (instructions will be in the manual); if you can’t do that, try to pry the snap caps out with a wooden or plastic tool…not a metal one. Try a piece of wooden dowel, and you can sand it to whatever shape you need (flattening the end, etc). Once the ‘second’ snap cap is out, a wooden dowel or brass cleaning rod down the barrel will get the first one out. (they are both snap caps and not live rounds, right?)
Don’t worry about breaking the snap caps…It’s far better to trash them then to ruin your gun.
