Are Canon Camera Lenses scratch resistant?
I bought a Canon 50 mm F/1.4 lens for my Rebel XTI. A key I wear around my neck hit up against the lense. It looked like it scratched it! So I took a piece of silk and rubbed it a bit and it looks like the scratch came out. Can anybody give me some insight into what happened? Is my lense screwed up????
To avoid this in the future, add a UV and/or have filter to the front of the lens. It will prevent scratches to the expensive Canon lens. You know, scratch a cheap filter instead of the lens.
