beretta 92fs (m9) vs. glock 17?
i am looking for a good 9mm pistol and would like someones opinon on this
the 92fs had all the problems that the origonal 92 had fixed
I know that glocks tend to jam in the 9mm, i don’t know about the beretta 92 fs. I have a beretta 96 fs which is the same thing but in 40 cal. i never have problems with the beretta 96fs exept when i let it get too dirty. also beretta’s tend to rust pretty easy. you gotta constantly put oil on them. i didn’t believe that when i was first told that but i pulled my Beretta out one day and the mags had a tiny bit of rust on them.(only after 2 weeks of storage in my closet) so now i rub a little bit of oil on it every week or so. I don’t think i would ever own a 9mm but that’s just me. i would rather have the stopping power of a 40. Everything I just said is from personal experience, but a million different people could argue everything i have said so far a million different ways so it is really up to your personal preference, and what you use the gun for. if it is for home defense or carry on the job i would say get a .40 glock. (glock 22) not to say a 9mm wont kill someone it is just that a .40 is more effective. but you also have to take into account what you prefer and how you like the grip and what you are comfortable shooting caliber wise. lucky for you the two guns you are looking for are very common and you could rent both of them for a day at a gun range and see what you like.
caution though when renting from a gun range: they don’t tend to keep their guns clean, so take that into account if one jam’s on you. also while i am thinking about it, glocks are very pickey on ammunition. Federal ammunition is probably your best bet. No lead cast bullets or reloads in a glock!!. always use jacketed(doesn’t mean it has to be full metal jacket, hollow points are fine) reloaded ammo has been know to go KABOOM in glocks.(Kaboom = blown up gun)
ohh! one more thing when choosing, sometimes while racking a beretta it is easy to turn the safty on!!!!! i have experianced this on more than one occasion at the range. which would not be good if your using it for home defence in the dark.
