Reduce Drag In Swim?
Ive been swimming since I learned to walk, but ever since highschool swimming i havent swam for two years. Well now iam coaching swim to younger kids, and its working great. I start off by getting them in shape, then teach them the physics of swimming and all the good stuff resistance drag and so on. Well speaking of drag, ive been wondering, would shaving and waxing your self with vaseline or someother water pruf lubercant reduce drag? I know it will not be allowed in a cometition, but for the sake of sience. thank you
Both of those things would help reduce drag but you would have to be careful where you are putting the vaseline. You would not want to put it on your hands or forearms where you want to hold the water for propulsion.
